What this covers

These terms govern your use of the sandcastlelabs.ai website and our newsletter. The site is operated by Orrin Consulting, LLC, doing business as (“DBA”) Sandcastle Labs, a Colorado company (“Sandcastle Labs,” “we,” “us”).

This is a marketing and publishing site: we share what we build, lessons learned, and guidance. These terms do not cover:

• Our products. Each product has its own terms and privacy policy.
• Consulting or other paid work. Any engagement is governed by the separate written agreement you sign with us, which controls over these terms for that work.

Acceptance

By using this site or subscribing to the newsletter, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The content is information, not advice

Everything on this site, including essays, build logs, guidance, examples, and numbers, is published for general information. It is not professional, legal, financial, or business advice, and it is not a substitute for advice tailored to your situation. You’re responsible for any decisions you make based on it. We aim to be accurate and specific, but we don’t warrant that everything is correct, complete, or current.

Acceptable use

You may read, link to, share, and quote our content with attribution. Don’t scrape or mass-harvest the site beyond normal reading and search indexing, republish pieces wholesale, attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it, or use it for anything unlawful.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, we’ll email you the essays and letters described at signup. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We handle subscriber data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Intellectual property

The site’s content, design, logos, and the “Sandcastle Labs” name are owned by Orrin Consulting, LLC or used with permission. Quoting a reasonable excerpt with a link back is fine; reproducing whole pieces is not without our permission. All other rights reserved. If you believe something here infringes your copyright, email hello@sandcastlelabs.ai and we’ll review it.

Third-party links

We link to third-party sites we don’t control and aren’t responsible for. Following a link is at your own risk.

No warranties

The site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Orrin Consulting, LLC (DBA Sandcastle Labs) and its members will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the site or its content. Because the site and newsletter are provided free of charge, our total liability for any claim relating to them is limited to USD 100. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits; there, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Any dispute should be brought in the state or federal courts in Colorado. This doesn’t override consumer-protection rights you can’t waive in your home state.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Effective” date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
